In May of 2018, Providence Report launched with little fanfare. It was created to help address the need for access to better sources of information from an informed Christian worldview. The intention was to aggregate and curate news and information relevant to Christian believers. The initial version of the site was maintained for one year and served as a pilot for what would become a more ambitious project.

In late 2021, a brand new site called Equip the Faithful was launched. This new site was created to provide a wider variety of Christian content in a modern and easily accessible format. Providence Report was then recreated as a weekly digest rather than a continually updated collation of links and became closely integrated with Equip the Faithful. A new feature was also introduced to the site providing Missionary Spotlights and Updates.
